Authentication Methods

SecTrail MFA supports various authentication methods. You can create profiles and policies for each method.

Supported Methods​

LDAP Authentication: Active Directory and LDAP directory service integration

Local Authentication: Local users defined within SecTrail MFA

LDAP+OTP: LDAP password and OTP code entry in a single field

Soft OTP: TOTP-based mobile application verification

SMS OTP: One-time password delivery via SMS

Mail OTP: One-time password delivery via email

Push Notification: Push notification delivery to mobile devices

Approved OTP: Authentication requiring administrator approval

Email Link: Link-based passwordless login via email

QR Login: Login via mobile application by scanning QR code

WebAuthn: FIDO2 security keys and biometric verification

Profile and Policy Management​

For each authentication method:

  • Create Profiles to define how the method will work
  • Use Policies to determine which users will use which profile
